“Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” — John 7:38
The Coming Cloudburst, by Randall D. Kittle

While I was praying, I saw the heavens filled with dark, purple clouds that looked like they were heavy with rain and ready for a cloudburst. Then the Lord said, “The clouds of Heaven are laden with the rain of the answers to prayers — answers to desperate prayers of petition are soon to burst forth and awaited promises of God are about to come to fruition and fulfillment. In this season there will be a cloudburst in the spiritual realm, and answers will pour down like rain.”

For many believers, it has seemed like a season of drought when it comes to the area of prayer. In drought, there is a lot of evaporation — lots of water drying up and going into the air, but little or no precipitation — water coming down from the heavenlies. That is how it has been for many as they have called out to the Lord in prayer. Their prayers have seemed to go nowhere because no answers have come down. Some have even begun to feel like the heavens have become brass — as if there is no use in praying because God doesn’t hear them.

But that is not the truth in the kingdom of God. Your prayers have not bounced off a heaven of brass and been lost. They have gone up to heaven and been preserved. The Book of Revelation says that in the midst of the throne in heaven there are
“… golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints” (Revelation 5:8). Our prayers have been accumulating, condensing, and their assured answers are awaiting release.

We must never forget the sovereignty of God. It is the Lord, not you or I, who determines when something will come to pass. The Bible promises that,
“The Lord is not slow about His promise …” (2 Peter 3:9). While He may not be slow, neither does He ever seem to be in a hurry (at least from our perspective).

Daniel 2:21 promises that our God is the one who
“… changes the times and seasons.” He has been waiting for the proper time, and we are now entering into a season when there will be an outburst and downpour of answered prayers. Long awaited answers to prayers are going to rain down upon God’s people. Soon, we will be hearing many testimonies of answers to prayers people have been lifting up for weeks, months, and even years. Great rejoicing will be a landmark of this upcoming season of answered prayer. We will cry out with Psalm 28:6–9: “Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him. The Lord is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed. Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance. Shepherd them also, and bear them up forever.”

As the Church begins to see the outpouring of these powerful answers to prayer, we will be greatly encouraged by God’s never failing faithfulness. A shout of triumph will go out from the Church and we will be stirred to do great exploits in the name of our God.
“Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power” (Psalm 110:3).

Please pray with me: Thank you Lord, for the saints of God who have been asking, seeking, and knocking. You have promised that those who ask and seek and knock will receive their answer. Thank you that You are the One who appoints the time and sets the seasons, and You are saying that this is a season for the answers from Heaven to break forth. So we agree with Your declaration and say, “Release the Heavens, and break through for your people. Cause the stored up answers of prayer to break through even beginning this day. Bring resolution to the petitions that have been lifted up before you. Thank you that you are a God who answers prayers and is ever faithful. We receive it in faith this day and look forward to hearing the joyous report of answers from Heaven.
