“Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” — John 7:38
Jackpot! by Randall D. Kittle

In a vision I saw a large slot machine with a long metal handle and three little windows on the front. Suddenly the handle went down, and in the windows I could see the three wheels spinning around. With a loud click the first wheel stopped spinning, and through the small window I could see on it written the word “More,” and behind this word a dollar sign. Next, the second wheel stopped with a loud click. In it was again the word “More,” and this time behind it was a large “X.” Then with a click the last wheel came into place. But before I could see what it was, the light on top of the slot machine started flashing, a siren sounded, and gold coins began to pour out of the machine. It had hit the jackpot! Looking at the third window, I could see the word “More,” and behind it was a crown resting upon a cross.

What We Seek
The three pictures in the slot machine represent things we seek after as believers. The dollar sign in the first window represents receiving more of the Lord's provision and financial blessing. Most believers in our culture are quick to ask the Lord to bless them financially and make them prosperous. This is not wrong, for it is our heavenly Father's desire to be our source and sustenance. He wants to richly bless us and cause us to prosper. We must learn to lean on Him as the supplier of our needs, and come to trust Him as our true Provider.

The picture of the “X” represents having more encounters and experiences with God. It is a good thing to be a hungry God-seeker who longs to encounter the Living God — for the Lord Himself longs for us to know Him and to be His more than we could ever comprehend. God created us to have relationship with Him, and He delights when we answer His heart's cry to be with Him. We are His beloved, His bride, His special treasure, and He yearns to draw us close and reveal Himself to us.

First Things First
The last picture, the crown resting upon the cross, represents more of Jesus as King of His Kingdom, Head of the Church, and Lord of our lives. When we truly possess this as the desire of our hearts, we have hit the spiritual jackpot!
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). We must seek to have the King as head of His kingdom, both our individual lives and our corporate lives — His Church, as our first priotity.

Great abundant blessing — both financial and experiential — will be ours as we seek to establish Jesus fully as the reigning sovereign in our hearts and our churches. When Jesus is the central core of our lives, when the desire of our hearts is that He would be more fully Lord of our lives and the true King who rules the Church, then He will bring us into greater experiences with Him and willingly pour out more financial blessings.

May the desire of our hearts be the rule and reign of our worthy God — in our lives, our families, and our churches!
